INTRODUCING THE FACE OF OUR CAMPAIGN

Shai Terry is a young Israeli mezzo-soprano living in Germany, a proud Jewish Woman and the adorable face of our campaign that we were looking for.

Shai Terry was born in Israel in 1991 and grew up in the small Israeli coastal village of Shavei Zion. Her first enthusiastic audience was her own family and even as a young girl she was given a real operatic voice, and started taking vocal lessons at Nahariya conservatory at the age of 13.

In 2009, Shai served her military service as lead singer in the IDF Orchestra and was invited to sing for the Israeli president and to perform in the United States on behalf of the FIDF. She got the honor to be the only singer to be chosen that year.

Shai studied her Bachelor degree at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University in the class of Mrs. Anat Efraty. 2018 she moved to Germany to live and study in Mainz, thanks to a very special scholarship for a Jewish-Israeli Women Anni Eisler-Lehmann Stiftung Mainz. Shai completed her Master degree and Artist Diploma (Konzertexamen) at the Music Academy in the class of Prof. Claudia Eder at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz.

Shai performed as 'Carmen' on the stage of the national Theater in Belgrade, was a guest singer in the Jerusalem Opera and participated in various opera productions, masterclasses and Festivals in Israel and Europe. She was performing in Gala concerts with different orchestras in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Tel Aviv, Munich, Hamburg and Vienna.

In Germany, Shai Terry has received a lot of attention as an Israeli-Jewish singer, as she was invited to perform at the Deutsche Welle Berlin, at the state parliament of Rheinland-Pfalz and at numerous important events over Germany. In addition, she is invited to many Jewish communities throughout Germany with her Israeli-Hebrew repertoire.

We truly believe that Shai´s greatest dream, to sing as 'Carmen' and other major roles on the world's leading opera stages, will come true.
